RESOURCES FOR TALENTED NEW AUTHORS

Picture
Dean Park Press is a community publisher, by which we mean that we seek to aid new talent, particularly in the local area, get onto the publishing ladder.

What we can offer our clients is our experience and expertise in the self-publishing area, with a knowledge of what to spend money on and what - frankly - is a waste of time.   We can talk through, and supply, ISBNs, create ebooks, advise on cover design, etc., without involving a lot of expense, and - if they wish - publish work under the Dean Park Press imprint. For instance, one area where we might be able to save money could be proof-reading each others' work.

We believe that the publishing world is changing very fast indeed, and that sales of ebooks will in future sit alongside print copy, and that readers will want to have the flexibility to choose traditional paper or the ever-cheaper electronic option. (Make no mistake, though - this publisher will fight tooth and nail to defend the printed copy.)

Currently, we focus on fiction, including short fiction, although we're open to any suggestions. If you think you have something which you feel merits publishing, please contact us through one of the methods on the Contact Us page in this site.
However please understand that our own resources are limited, we can't deal with a flood of submissions any more than any other publisher, so it's best to get in touch first to check we're able to give your manuscript some attention.

Meantime, here are some useful guidelines on our submissions policy, formatting, covers and some general articles on the book business. Hopefully even publishers, cover designers, booksellers and distributors will find something of use – or even contribute!
